TIS Middle School Overview

Vision and Mission of the TIS Middle School

Our school is dedicated to providing a high-quality international education that empowers students to become confident, responsible, and lifelong learners. We strive to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment where academic excellence, personal growth, and ethical values are equally emphasized. Through innovative teaching practices and strong partnerships with families, we prepare students to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing world while fostering respect, integrity, and global citizenship.

Introduction to Our Division

The Middle School Division plays a crucial role in guiding students through a significant stage of their academic and personal development. Our division is committed to nurturing intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, creativity, and social responsibility. Through a balanced and student-centered curriculum, we support the academic, emotional, and social growth of every learner. Students are encouraged to develop independence, self-discipline, and leadership skills while participating in a wide range of educational and co-curricular activities that prepare them for future academic success.

International English Curriculum and Learning Resources

To ensure that our students receive an education that meets international standards, we utilize textbooks and instructional materials from internationally recognized publishers. These resources are carefully selected to develop students’ proficiency in reading, writing, listening, speaking, and critical thinking. Exposure to authentic language and diverse cultural perspectives enhances students’ communication skills and prepares them for success in higher education and global environments. The use of international curricula also ensures alignment with best practices in English language teaching and learning.

Academic Support and Intervention Programs

Recognizing that students learn at different rates and may encounter various academic challenges, our division provides additional support classes for underachieving students. These intervention programs focus on strengthening foundational skills, addressing learning gaps, and improving overall academic performance. Teachers help students build confidence and develop effective learning strategies. Our goal is to ensure that every student receives the support necessary to achieve academic success and reach their full potential.

Weekly Syllabus Distribution

To promote transparency and help both students and parents remain informed about academic expectations, our division implements a system of weekly syllabus distribution. Each week, students and parents receive a detailed outline of topics, lessons, assignments, and assessments planned across all subjects. This initiative helps students stay organized, manage their time effectively, and prepare adequately for their studies. It also enables parents to actively support their children's learning at home and remain engaged in their academic progress.

Parent Communication Through the Learning Management System (LMS)

Maintaining strong communication between the school and families is a priority within our division. Through the school's Learning Management System (LMS), parents have direct access to important information regarding academic progress, homework assignments, classroom activities, attendance, and school announcements. This continuous flow of information strengthens the partnership between home and school and allows for timely intervention when academic or behavioral concerns arise. The LMS serves as an effective platform for fostering collaboration and supporting student success.

Classroom Assessment and Observation

To maintain high educational standards and ensure effective teaching practices, regular classroom assessments and observations are conducted throughout the academic year. These observations help ensure that instruction remains aligned with curriculum objectives and that students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences. Teachers receive constructive feedback aimed at enhancing instructional strategies and promoting continuous professional growth. This process contributes to improved learning outcomes and supports a culture of excellence within the division.

Educational Counseling Services

Our division recognizes the importance of supporting students’ emotional, social, and psychological well-being alongside their academic development. Educational counseling services are available to provide guidance on academic planning, personal development, stress management, peer relationships, and other challenges students may encounter during adolescence. Through individualized support and counseling programs, students are encouraged to develop resilience, self-awareness, and positive decision-making skills that contribute to their overall success and well-being.

Teacher Collaboration and Professional Discussions

Regular teacher collaboration meetings are held throughout the year to identify, discuss, and address educational challenges and opportunities. These meetings provide a valuable platform for teachers to share experiences, analyze student performance, exchange best practices, and collaboratively develop effective instructional strategies. By fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement, these discussions contribute to enhanced teaching quality and better student outcomes.

Parent-Teacher Meetings

The division organizes formal Parent-Teacher Meetings on a regular basis to strengthen communication and cooperation between families and the school. These meetings provide parents with the opportunity to discuss their child's academic progress, behavior, strengths, and areas requiring improvement with subject teachers. The sessions encourage meaningful dialogue, facilitate collaborative problem-solving, and ensure that parents remain active partners in their child's educational journey. These meetings have proven highly valuable in building trust, strengthening school-home relationships, and supporting student achievement.

Student Discipline Policy

The Middle School Division believes that a positive, respectful, and safe learning environment is essential for academic success and personal development. Student discipline is evaluated through a comprehensive framework that promotes responsibility, respect, cooperation, and good citizenship. Factors considered in assessing student behavior include punctuality, attendance, wearing the school uniform properly, respect for teachers and peers, adherence to school rules, care for school property, cooperation with classmates, and compliance with examination regulations and school procedures.
